CANNABIS THERAPY PROCEDURE Therapy process for patients that have previously been treated with medical cannabis.
When am I considered to have been previously treated with medical cannabis?
You have been or are already being treated with medical cannabis by another doctor and are looking for a cheaper alternative with a high standard of treatment. You can provide your previous medical records or a cannabis prescription issued in your name to substantiate this.
Registration and appointment scheduling
Register free of charge to book a consultation with one of our cooperating doctors. You will then see several topic blocks in your profile with questions about your medical history. Please complete these questions to the best of your knowledge and belief. In addition, upload your medical documents confirming your diagnosis and to prove that you are/were already being treated with medicinal cannabis (e.g. a prescription issued for you). You can request these documents from your family doctor or specialist.
The appointment booking
Once you have answered all the questions regarding your state of health, you can book an appointment for an Follow-up Consultation with one of our cooperating doctors directly via the platform.
The digital Initial Consultation1
During the digital initial consultation via video consultation with one of our cooperating doctors, the doctor will documen your medical history. If the doctor decides that medicinal cannabis is still a suitable therapeutic option for you, it will be prescribed according to your individual diagnosis and needs. Following the appointment, you will receive your prescription.
The digital follow-up calls1
Therapy monitoring and follow-up prescriptions1
To track the progress of your treatment, you will be asked at regular intervals as to how you feel about your health. In this way, your doctor can closely monitor your treatment, even if you only consult him or her once a quarter via video consultation. By answering the questions about your quality of life, you can request a follow-up prescription without a consultation. It is also possible to specify a desired preparation in the same dosage and with a similar spectrum of action when applying.
To be able to apply for follow-up prescriptions without a video consultation, you must first be authorised by your doctor. You can only be authorised for this if your medication is well adjusted.
CANNABIS THERAPY PROCEDURE Therapy procedure for new patients
When am I considered a new patient?
You are considered a new patient if you have so far only tried non-cannabis therapies to alleviate your symptoms - medicinal cannabis has not yet been tried.
Registration and document check
Register free of charge to arrange a consultation with one of our doctors. You will then be asked to complete a questionnaire. We need this information in advance so that we can ensure that all the important documents for the possible start of treatment are available and your treating doctor can prepare for the consultation in the best possible way.
Please complete these questions to the best of your knowledge. You will be given the opportunity to upload medical reports (e.g. doctor’s letter/attestation/referral letter) on your complaints in your profile, showing the diagnoses and – if possible – the treatment procedures carried out to date. You can request these from your family doctor or specialist.
Once all documents have been uploaded and the questionnaire completed, your details will be checked by our specialised medical staff. After successful approval, you will be given the opportunity to book an appointment. Up to this point, our service is completely free of charge for you.

The initial consultation
During the initial consultation with one of our doctors, a physical and psychological medical history is documented.
If medicinal cannabis is a suitable therapeutic alternative and/or supplement for you, it will be prescribed according to your individual diagnosis and needs. You will receive your first prescription immediately post the consultation so you can start your treatment.
The digital follow-up calls
Your doctor will accompany you during your treatment journey in regular follow-up consultations online (at least once per quarter). He or she will ask you about your state of health and adjust your medication if necessary. Of course, you also have the opportunity to ask your doctor questions about your therapy. You will then receive your follow-up prescription.
Therapy monitoring and follow-up prescriptions
To track the progress of your treatment, you will be asked at regular intervals in the nowomed app (desktop or mobile phone) how you feel about your health. In this way, your doctor can closely monitor your treatment, even if you only consult him or her once a quarter via video consultation. By answering the questions about your quality of life, you can apply for a follow-up prescription without a consultation.
To be able to apply for repeat prescriptions, you must first be authorised by your doctor. You can only be authorised for this if your medication is well adjusted. For repeat prescriptions without a video consultation, it is also possible to specify a desired preparation in the same dosage and with a similar spectrum of action when applying.
The duration of the dosing phase is very individual and depends on personal previous experience, the individual state of the disease and the need to adjust the preparations during the course of therapy (on average approx. 1-3 months). During the dosing phase, it is often necessary to have closer medical supervision through video consultations (about once a month).
